- ACCOUNTANT.
The Accountant position is responsible for performing accounts payable, payroll and general ledger related accounting duties. This position reports to the Controller.
Essential Functions:
Perform Accounts Payable function including receiving and matching invoices, reviewing for proper account coding & approval and preparing weekly checks runs
Maintain Form W-9 and issue year-end 1099s to necessary vendors
Maintain an up-to-date accurate cash balances and prepare cash forecast
Process semi-monthly payroll while ensuring compliance with the labor and payroll tax laws
Process employees 401(k) contributions
Assist in month-end closes by preparing and recording some journal entries
Assist in reconciling some of the general ledger accounts
Perform Fixed Assets accounting to ensure that all acquisitions & dispositions are recorded timely and accurately and record depreciation expenses
Responsible for preparing and filing Sales and Use tax returns in a timely manner
Perform special projects as required and other duties as assigned
FLSA Status:
Preferred Education:
Two year Associate Degree in Accounting is required
BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Economics is preferred
Preferred Experience:
Prior Biotech experience is preferred
1 to 3 years of related experience is preferred
Preferred Computer Skills:
Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Working knowledge and familiarity with Quickbooks is preferred
Preferred Special Skills:
Ability to pay close attention to details
Team player with the ability to multi-task and be flexible and adjust to a dynamic environment
Ability to work independently
Strong written and oral communication
Prior experience in government contracts is a plus
- GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS MANAGER.
Manages contract and subcontract analysis and administration; proposal preparation; and vendor contact related to contract acquisition and fulfillment. Suggest and implement corporate policy related to or necessary for DCAA/FAR/DFARS/HHSAR and other government compliance.
Essential Functions:
Ensures contracts and subcontracts are executed according to negotiated and agreed upon parameters and government guidelines.
Advises management regarding compliance requirements related to all contracts.
Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.
Prepares plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and performs schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.
Tracks and manages available funding by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, preparing expenditure projections, and informing management of the timelines/needs to request additional government funding.
Incorporate contractual changes into tracking systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.
Develops management reports to support budgeting and forecasting with regard to tracking government contracts and/or vendor subcontracts.
Handle all compliance and reporting related to all contracts and agreements.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Typically requires eight years of related experience and/or combination of experience and education/training.
Experience with government contracts required.
Experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Preferred Education:
Advanced degree preferred.
