The Achaogen Biopharmaceutical Clinical Sciences Fellowship is a two year program designed to develop pharmacists to assume a variety of responsibilities within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. Applicants must be Doctor of Pharmacy candidates or graduates from an ACPE accredited institution and must be enthusiastic professionals with excellent communication skills. Individuals with an interest in drug development and clinical research are encouraged to apply. The fellowship involves hands-on training and work assignments with mentorship from experts in the field.

The successful candidate will participate in a broad range of activities including drug discovery, early clinical development/translational medicine (Phase 1), clinical research/development (Phase 2-3), regulatory affairs and scientific communication/medical affairs. Oversight of one or more research projects with associated presentation at major medical meetings and publication in peer-reviewed journals is expected.  In addition, fellows will have opportunities to support the UCSF School of Pharmacy educational program, including acting as conference leader or lecturer, among other opportunities.
